Airport transfers by car

Houston Airport is accessible from both Interstate 45, U.S. Highway 59 (Interstate 69), the Sam Houston Tollway (Beltway 8), and the Hardy Toll Road. The main routes to Houston Airport are John F. Kennedy Boulevard from either the Hardy Toll Road or the Sam Houston Tollway (Beltway 8), and Will Clayton Parkway from U.S. Highway 59 (Interstate 69).

Pick-up

If you are going to pick somebody up at Houston Airport, you should use the free Cell Phone Lots waiting area.

Please use the pick-up passenger area outside the terminals. Below are the locations for each terminal:

  • Terminal A: north side, Door A-113
  • Terminal B: north side, Door B-101
  • Terminal C: north side, Door C-102
  • Terminal D: Terminal E International Arrivals Hall*
  • Terminal E: west side, Door E-101 or E-102
    Please follow the signs to “Arrivals”.

Houston Airport transfers by taxi

You can hire everything from a private limousine, car service, and taxis to provide you service to and from the airport.

You can find airport personnel available every day from 7:00 am until midnight that can assist you with hailing a cab. If you need to request assistance for taxi service between midnight and 7:00 am, you can either call +1 281-743-3970 or use the courtesy phones to dial 23-4198.

Airport transfers with your car rental

You will find the Houston Rental Car Center just five minutes from the terminals by shuttle transportation. There will be shuttles departing from the outside Baggage Claim/Arrivals at Terminals A, B, C, and E, every five minutes between 7:00 am and 11:00 pm. The shuttles will depart every ten minutes between 11:00 pm and 7:00 am.

Please refer to the below information, for the exact location of the shuttles at all terminals:

  • Terminal A: Southside, Door A-115
  • Terminal B: Southside, B-103
  • Terminal C: Southside, Door C-105 or C-106
  • Terminal E: west side, E-101
    Follow the signs to “Ground Transportation” and please note that the exits are marked with “Rental Car” signs. Passengers need to look for blue and white buses marked “Rental Car Shuttle”.

For all international passengers arriving at Terminal D, please proceed through Customs & Immigration to the Terminal E international arrivals hall.

Houston Airport transfers by public transportation

Houston Airport is located approximately 22 miles north of downtown Houston. From the airport, you will have a selection of public, ground transportation services that can bring you to and from your further location.

Buses: You can take the METRO - the Houston Metropolitan Transit Authority. The METRO operates several services to and from downtown Houston and to the vicinity with various stops. If you would like to get straight to downtown Houston the most comfortable route will be to take METRO Bus #102.

Airport Shuttles: There will be several shuttle bus companies at your disposal to get you to and from Houston Airport.
